Rev Wilkinson

We know that John lived with the Rev Wilkinson, Padre of Barrackpore from two sources. In the condolence letter from E C Ashworth of the Bengal Artillery, he notes that John was living with the Rev Wilkinson when he [E C Ashworth] arrived in mid-1926.

Also on the back of one of the photographs of Rev Wilkinson, John uses the phrase “taken at the corner of our garden, facing Government House Gardens”.

The house is substantially larger than John’s bungalow at 9, Riverside, and is perhaps the official rectory. A church spire can be seen in the background of one photo.

John seems very much at home there.
